Speaking at Central Washington University

Central Washington University
Washington Business Week

Wags to you all on this pawsome week! Tuesday afternoon things were looking good as my dad fed me earlier than normal which put me on alert. I was thinking “hmmm, what does he want?” Earlier in the day he had brushed me out so my coat was shiny, clean, and oh yes I was looking mighty fine. Like a star and one ready to be on stage. Sure enough, he did want something… once again my master wanted me to not only work for him but to also be handsome and charm the crowd one more time!!

After he fed me, he went and got all spruced up. His coat was not as shiny as mine, but it would have to do. He had on the nice clothes which said “its business time” and that usually means some sort of speaking engagement, which also meant people – I love people!! Love, love, love them!!

Before I knew it the door bell was ringing and there was my friend Bruce waiting for us with his truck still running. Dad picked up his computer bag grabbed my harness handle and worked me out to the truck. Once inside, he removed my harness so that I could get comfy and settle in to enjoy the ride. After a short nap in the truck the vehicle slowed to a stop. I thought are we there yet? But no, it was just a coffee break at one of our favorite coffee stands. The coffee makes my nose twitch, but it smells so good and if I am lucky someone has left a few crumbs for me to clean up. Don’t tell my Dad as I am trained to ignore the crumbs. But one has to think, if they did not want me to have them, why would they leave them there for me? After acquiring the drinks from the Barista I would be required to lie on the floor and behave myself once more.

After coffee, we headed over to the Student Union building. It was empty when we arrived and I was a bit puzzled since usually when I get to these types of rooms there is an audience, but this time there was none. I was a bit confused. You know the type of confusion that us blondes have!

Before I knew it in came a few people that I was able to convince needed to pet me and things were starting to look up. Soon oh yes soon the room would fill and there was much excitement. Then it was time for dad to take the stage and this meant I was on, yes I was on. Dad is the one who speaks sharing his message about overcoming things that can happen in life, he does not know it but I am the one who steals the show. Yep as he speaks I lay on the floor and when it is appropriate I roll over on my back, hang my head over the edge of the stage, look out into the audience with my brown eyes and I have even been known to lock eyes with a few in the audience as if to say “listen up this is pretty important stuff!”

After it was all over they gave me a standing ovation. Wow, a standing ovation just for being my adorable self!! Everyone was impressed when I guided my Dad down the stairs and to a place where they could all talk. Now it was time to turn up the charm and get as many as possible to pet me. Yes I do know how to work a crowd, especially if there are those who take out their cameras and want a picture or two.

After mingling as long as we could it was time once again to jump in the truck and head back, just another days work. Being the awesome guide that I am, keeping my dad safe in all situations and if the opportunity arises which I am always on the lookout for it means interacting with you humans.

Alright, until next time remember…Wags for now!
