Saturday

Saturday
I love Saturdays since for the most part; this day does is unstructured and has no set plan. Just a good day!
The morning starts by my dad stirring in bed and upon noticing him kicking back the covers I stand up and start to get excited. I can’t go anywhere yet as I am still on my tie-down – but I am ready to go! Before I know it dad is dressed and moving my direction, which has me excited and ready to run. As dad reaches down and unclips the swivel snap on my tie-down I race toward the closed door, stop on a dime, and shake my fir all over the bedroom, and standing in ready mode, I wait for dad to open the door.
Upon opening the door I realize that the house is quiet and no one is up yet except dad and I and this is our time. Proceeding down the long flight of stairs I race ahead anticipating dad moving to the garage door. However most of the time he detours toward the kitchen to put on a pot of coffee, the smell in the air, usually makes my nose twitch but this makes him happy so I put up with it.
Upon finishing up at the counter he moves toward the door in a methodical manner and I stand waiting, mind you I am wiggling and dancing, but I am waiting. Upon dad reaching the door he grabs the door knob and turns and open the door and I dart into the garage and head directly for the black box full of my dog food. Yes I am anticipating my breakfast, for you remember I am a food craving Labrador retriever, trained or not I enjoy my food!
After dad takes me for my morning walk it is time to re-enter the house and see what is happening. We go and poor a cup of coffee and grab a comfortable chair to enjoy the quiet of the morning. While he is doing that, I will go grab my chewing bone and chew for a while or perhaps a moment of chasing my leg in circles.
Upon completing my chewing I will then assume my position on the porch and enjoy the sun. I hang my head on my dad’s feet or over the rail to watch and see what is happening around the house. Then after sunning I go inside and walk to the top of the stairs and again lay with my head hanging down to the next step as I wait for the rest of the family to wake for the day. I love the stillness of morning, quietly watching, waiting and wondering what will this day bring! Yes this is how I love to start my Saturdays relaxing and protecting my family and my house.
Remember whatever you and wherever you go know that Arby will be dropping in soon with another Wags so for now it is Wags to you!
